Classes
Classes are offered for boys and girls
ages 3 through adult. Class placement is
at the discretion of the studio director
and determined by the students ability,
age, and experience. Classes are offered
in 45 minute or 1 hour sessions and meet
weekly at a scheduled time.
JAZZ
is an exciting and ever evolving dance form full of
rhythm, syncopation, passion and life. Classes explore
body isolations of the head, shoulders, ribcage, feet and
arms and encourage individual expression and the
development of personal style. Jazz can be powerful
and percussive or expressive and lyrical.
TAP
Is a form of dance tapped
out audibly by means of
shoes with hard soles or
soles and heels to which
taps have been added.
Classes will be working on
internalizing proper body
movement to music as well
as foot speed. This will help
develop rhythm,
coordination, and advanced
motor skills.
is a technical dance form that is
considered to be the foundation of all
dance forms. Students are taught
correct body placement, application,
and vocabulary. Classes are designed
to help develop strength, poise and
grace. Students must be at least 5
years of age.
Ballet
Lyrical
is a contemporary dance that incorporates jazz and ballet. This
form of dance lets the student express their emotions while
keeping the classical training of jazz and ballet.
Hip Hop
is a high-energy class that uses
the latest sounds in music
together with movements that
have elements of poppin',
locking, and breaking as well as
freestyle movement. This gives
the student an opportunity to
develop their own sense of style
as well as enhance their
coordination, strength, and
endurance.
Acrobats
Is a high-energy
class that increases
body strength and
technique through
the use of tumbling
and floor work.
Students must be at
least 5 years of age.
Pointe
Is a style of dance performed with specially
made shoes that allow you to stand on your
toes. This class is for experienced students
only. Students must be enrolled in a
ballet/lyrical class while enrolled in pointe
and must be at least 11 years of age.
Is a style of theatrical dance that rejects the
limitations of classical ballet and favors
movement deriving from the expression of
inner feeling.
Modern
Break Dancing
Is a form of dancing that involves rapid acrobatic moves in which
different parts of the body touch the ground; normally performed
to the rhythm of rap music
