INFORMATION: Parents, please make it a point to come into the studio on a regular basis to catch up on news and studio information. Information is updated regularly. Posters are hung in plain site and information is always available at the desk. Newsletters are sent out periodically. We cannot be held for missed information. It is the sole responsibility of the parent for obtaining all studio information. SHOES: Shoes for each class vary depending on age and ability. Shoes must be sized and purchased through the studio. Sneakers that have been worn outside will not be allowed in class. Colors vary. Specific shoe colors may be required to match costumes for recital. Shoe colors are TBA and are determined during the students costume fittings in the studio. Prices are available at the studio. DANCE SEASON: The dance season will run from September to June. As part of a complete dance experience, students are required to participate in BOTH shows at our annual recital in June. The location, dates and times are located on the Home Page. All students participating in the annual recital must purchase the appropriate costume, specific shoes, or tights as required, and tickets to view the performances. *NOTE: no student will perform in the recitals unless their account is paid in full. DANCE ATTIRE: Students are expected to be dressed appropriately for each class. A one-piece leotard or unitard must be worn. (any color). Tights must be worn when wearing a leotard. Male dancers must wear sweat pants or cotton shorts and a cotton shirt. Hair must be neatly pulled back into a ponytail or bun. No jewelery can be worn during class. Only stud earrings are acceptable. Any student not dressed appropriately for class will only be allowed to observe that class. COMPETITION TEAM: Competitive level classes are offered for the more serious dancer. Students enter this program through invitation, audition or upon teacher recommendation and they are chosen by skill level, motivation, and dedication. Being on the competition team is equivalent to being on a select "sports team", a significant commitment to dance and a great deal of extra time and effort is involved on the part of the student as well as the parent. If you are interested and able to fulfill all the required obligations, both parent and student must arrange a meeting with Miss Erin. COSTUMES: The costume fee is approximately $70.00 per dance. In addition, students are charged $12 for one pair of tan tights to be worn during pictures, dress rehearsal, and recital only. Additional tights and/ or accessories may be required at and additional cost. A deposit of $20 per costume is due October and November. The costume deposits will be collected by the first of each month. Payments may be made by cash or check on or before the due date. Final balances will be given out at the end of November and the balance due by the first week of December. Costumes will NOT be ordered with out the costume balance paid in full. If your costume balance remains unpaid at the end of December a late fee will be applied, and again on each of the next succeeding months until your balance is paid. No refunds, transfers, or credits will be given for any costume payment made. ATTENDANCE POLICY: *Perfect Attendance Awards are given at the end of the year to all students with perfect attendance in all classes. Make-up classes are available but must be scheduled before the student returns to their next regular class. CANCELLATIONS: Generally the studio follows the school system in calling a snow day. All studio closing dates due to holiday, vacation, etc. are always listed. All storm closings of the studio are announced on fun107 and WBSM. The studio answering machine is updated between noon and 2:00 p.m. with class cancellations. Students should call the studio before coming on snowy or icy days. NOTE: credit WILL NOT be given for classes cancelled due to bad weather conditions. PARKING: So there is no confusion, Dance Xtreme's Parking area lines have been painted white. Everyone should be parking in the white lined area to the left of the building when possible. After 6:00 pm on weekdays, we are allowed to park in any area so long as Beacon Hardware is closed. Please leave the yellow lined areas for the customers of Beacon Hardware during their hours of operation. Weekend parking is in the white lined area only or on the street. Please park in designated spots only do not block the driveway or other cars while waiting for your child's class to end. Children are NOT ALLOWED to play in the parking lot area. I appreciate your consideration in this matter. |
| CLASSES: Instruction is given in Jazz/Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, Modern, Pointe, Acrobats, Hip Hop, and Break dancing. Class placement is at the discretion of the studio director and determined by the students ability, age, and experience. Classes are offered in 45 minute or 1 hour sessions and meet weekly at a scheduled time. IN AND OUTSIDE OF CLASS: Proper RESPECT for the studio director, staff, studio, curriculum, fellow students, and facility is EXPECTED of all students, parents, and siblings, on or off-site. When attending classes, participating in a studio event, performances, out-of-town excursion, or when wearing the studio logo, general behavior is as important as your ability to dance. Parents or students needing to speak with Miss Erin or the staff should leave a message with the desk or call the studio rather than hold instructors up between classes. Our time with ALL the students is very important. Please DO NOT disturb classes, the students are trying to learn and have fun! |
